About
The story behind State of Affairs.
A coffee bar, a roastery, and a small obsession with making the morning feel like something.
Our Story
State of Affairs began in 2014 with one espresso machine and a stubborn idea: that good coffee deserves a quiet, careful place. A decade in, we roast our own beans, train our own team, and pour for the same regulars who walked in that first week.
The name comes from the small, daily ceremony of making coffee — the state of affairs that opens every good morning.

What State of Affairs Means
A small, deliberate ritual. The morning treated as worth the time.
Our Coffee Philosophy
Single origins, small batches, traceable beans. Honest extractions.
Team & Baristas
Long-tenured, well-trained, paid fairly. The bar is theirs as much as ours.
What we stand for
Four values, every day.
Quality
We pour what we'd want to drink — every cup, every shift.
Curiosity
New origins, new methods, new ideas. The bar moves forward.
Community
A bar belongs to its regulars. We're proud of ours.
Sustainability
Reusable everything, fair-priced beans, careful waste.
